Questions a Mortgage Lender is Likely to Ask

When you discuss a mortgage with a Mortgage Broker or Mortgage lender, there are a number of questions you should expect to be asked.  The better prepared you are for these questions, the more accurate answers you will be able to provide.  As a result, you will run into less problems with having your loan approved and the process will be completed more quickly.

One of the first things the mortgage lender will want to know is whether or not you are employed and what your current income is.  As such, the lender will want to know where you work, how much you earn, how long you have been at the job, and whether or not your income is steady or irregular.  If your income is irregular, you may need need to demonstrate your income history.

The mortgage lender will also want to know whether or not you have outstanding debts.  These debts will include recurring debts as well as the amount of debt you are carrying on  credit cards.  In addition, the mortgage lender will want to know how much you have to pay on any loans you may have.  Not only will the lender want to know how much debt you are in, he or she will also want to how much income you have in comparison to your debt. You also need to be prepared to demonstrate to the mortgage lender how much disposable income you have.
