Regulated and authorised by the Financial Services Authority, we strive to provide a first class service, from initial call through to completion.

Our consultants are highly trained with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. With customer service paramount in all that we do, your sales consultant will be your main point of contact until such time as your case is passed to our in-house underwriting team.


Meir Plancey Managing Director

I am proud that First Union has become known in the industry as a company that is committed to delivering superior service and quality financial solutions.

Having had 15 years industry experience, with FISA and CeMap qualifications, I formed the Company in 1998.  I am responsible for Strategic Planning within First Union. My role also encompasses overseeing all new business channels; working on the current infrastructure; whilst taking into consideration any new technological advancement that will enable First Union to develop our products and to make the customer journey a positive one. I have also been known to clean the offices, but that’s only in an unofficial capacity!

Adam Brand Operations Director

I formed First Union with Meir in 1998 and between us we have a combined experience of some 30 years selling and completing Loans and Mortgages. I have brought together a team of individuals who work closely to allow our business levels to increase whilst our service levels improve. My key area of work is to continually identify, develop and ultimately oversee all existing relationships, whilst maximising our ability to meet targets and notably client expectations and throughout the Company.

A career based in sales allows me to develop and progress any new ventures or opportunities. First Union pride themselves in offering a comprehensive, efficient and friendly service which is seldom rivalled.

With 7 years experience in the loans and mortgage market when the opportunity arose to work for First Union in January 2009, I jumped at the chance.

I had worked closely with First Union through previous companies over a number of years and always admired the First Union ethos of always putting the customer first and making the customer journey as easy and pain free as it can be.

My role within the company covers many different areas all of which are focused on having the right products available to all our customers and ensuring the scope of products covers all their financial needs at the best possible prices.

Having joined First Union in 2004 as a senior underwriter, my role has developed with the increased growth in the business. The Underwriting Team is an organised, motivated and highly professional team, with a daily focus on building rapport with both clients and lenders. I enjoy taking pride in meeting the exacting workload and industry standards to achieve our clients’ demands, needs and expectations.

Barry Huffer Compliance Manager

First Union has embedded through its policies and procedures a culture built strongly on the principles and compliance required and advised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). We arrange mortgages and do not give advice. The Company safeguards areas of risk by integrating regulatory procedures into its case management system.

All staff have an understanding of what is required of them and receive regular training on best practice standards throughout the Company.

I joined First Union in 2005. My key function is in-house training and development for all staff. In addition, I oversee our Call Centre and Specialist Lending Teams.

Ensuring that our customer facing staff are all well trained in their roles helps us towards our goal of ensuring all clients experience a level of service and professionalism unrivalled in this industry.
